Sample #88, a Release Candidate for NC-559-V3-TF – next generation REACH-compliant universal no-clean tacky flux. Improved V3 formula demonstrates mighty action, optimal flow and excellent ability to hold components in place. Clear residue provides an engineer with transparency over the process. Slow burning ratio - long lasting. Optical UV-tracer to aid in cleaning. Pleasant non-chemical scent.

Unlike ASM/V2 the V3 is REACH-compliant – environmentally/health friendlier. And unlike VS-213-A the V3 is less viscous – flows better and easier to clean with alcohol.

- NC-559-V3-TF is the most recent AMTECH no-clean formulation combining the power of two best-selling fluxes NC-559-ASM/V2 into a single universal and REACH-compliant soldering material with optical UV-tracer and pleasant non-chemical scent. A pinnacle of 20 years NC-559 evolution making soldering incredibly easy and fun without harming the environment or human health.
- Mighty desoldering - implements upgraded copper ions booster, visually noticeable while wicking the workspace. Instant action - quickly wets lead-free or leaded alloys aiding in delivery of perfect joints. Excellent tackiness - holds components in-place yet allows for an easy repositioning. Suitable a for multi-step assembly - get back to a project a day or two later, once heated the flux will flow again without losing performance.
- Long lasting and economical - uses upgraded modern fire-retardant process preventing the flux from burning away too fast. Optimal viscosity - 38-51 (Malcom @ 10 RPM/25°C (x103mPa/s)) - suitable for industrial component placement machines as well as handcraft repairs and hobby use - smooth flow from a syringe. Halide-free (<0.05%). Surface insulation resistant. No copper mirror breakthrough. Low electrochemical migration (<1 decade drop).
- Clear residue can be easily removed with hot air, foam swab and basic solvents. ROL0 classification - non-corrosive, doesn't short components, can be left on board for multiple SMT assemblies (manufacturer recommends cleaning all flux residues at all times to avoid board contamination or voltage leakage on circuits with high impedance, also non-activated residue may absorb moisture from air and subsequently cause corrosion).
- Industrial air-syringe intended for professional use with pneumatic dispensers, do not remove the piston stopper! Do not discard original nozzle cap, tighten the cap while not using the flux - flux may dry out upon extended contact with air. Does not include any dispensing components like plunger or tip which can be necessary to manually control the flow. Keep in a room temperature - do not refrigerate. Cleaning

“No-clean” indicates cleaning method as defined by IPC standard and does not mean that the flux leaves no residue. No-clean rather means that the flux can be left on PCB for several consecutive SMT assemblies and also won’t cause corrosion if left indefinitely, however cleaning can be necessary and it is desirable. No-clean fluxes are easily removed using solvents in ultrasonic devices or commercially available flux residue removers.

Storage and Handling

Tacky flux should be stored at room temperature (20-25°C). Refrigeration is not necessary and will not extend product shelf life. If the material has been refrigerated - consider 3-4 hours to normalize at room temperature. Syringes and cartridges are best stored vertically with tip pointing down. Properly stored tacky flux has up to 24-month shelf life.

Dispensing Kit (Plunger and Tip) is not included

AMTECH syringes are intended for industrial dispensing machines and use a piston stopper instead of a plunger - Dispensing Kit is a third party add-on, not supplied by AMTECH. Dispensing tip gauge (size) will be within 14-23 Ga and may differ from pictured. A plunger is to push on the piston and not necessary snuggly fitting AMTECH syringe, a plunger can be loose. Do not remove the piston as it delivers the best seal preventing contact with air.
